Manning Fire Department presents monthly activity report

Three firefighters attended a smoke alarm training class in Myrtle Beach. This class ensures that the MFD gets more free smoke alarms. The firefighters will also install the alarms when needed.

Firefighters assisted with unloading students at the Manning Early Childhood Center on April 7th , at Manning Primary School on the 13th, and at Manning Elementary on the 25th.

MFD held their monthly supper on April 11th and attended the City Council meeting on the 12th.

Then, MFD held their monthly training on the 18th . At training, they trained on pump and hydrant operations.

Lastly, firefighters participated in the Easter event here at the station on the 28th.

3-1-24 Responded to a fire alarm at 200 th block Commerce Street. (No fire - false alarm)

3-4-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 200 th block of Dickson Street.

3-5-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 400 th block of S. Church Street.

3-5-24 Responded to a patient that fell at 40 th block of Sunset Drive. Upon arrival firefighters found a patient had fallen in the parking lot and was bleeding from the face. Firefighters assisted patient with first aid and assisted EMS with loading and transport.

3-6-24 Responded to a patient having a seizure at 100 th block of Nelson Circle. Upon arrival firefighters found patient appeared to be coming out of a seizure but nonverbal. Firefighters assisted patient with oxygen until EMS arrival.

3-7-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 1 st block of Branch Street.

3-8-24 Responded to a reported structure fire at 100 th block of Breeding Street. Upon arrival firefighters arrived at the apartments with nothing showing. Occupants stated they appeared to see smoke coming from the apartment. Firefighters made forcible entry into an upstairs widow. Firefighters found a pot left unattended on the stove with NO fire.

3-8-24 Responded to a vehicle accident at 600 th block of S. Mill Street. Upon arrival firefighters found a minor two-car accident in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot with no injuries.

3-9-24 Responded to a fire alarm at 329 W. Huggins Street.

3-12-24 Responded to a reported unconscious patient at 1900 th block of Paxville Hwy. Upon arrival firefighters found patient was sitting in a chair conscious and somewhat alert. Bystanders stated patient had fell and passed out earlier. Firefighters monitored patient until EMS arrival.

3-12-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 10 th block of W. Hospital Street.

3-13-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 200 th block of N. Church Street.

3-14-24 Responded to a vehicle accident at Brooks and Boyce Street. Upon arrival firefighters found a two-car vehicle accident in the intersection. One patient was complaining of neck and back pain. Firefighters assisted patient until EMS arrival.

3-15-24 Responded to a vehicle accident on Sumter Street. Upon arrival firefighters found a one car overturned vehicle. Occupant had no injuries. Firefighters assisted in traffic control until Manning PD arrival.

3-16-24 Responded to an electrical fire at 200 th block of Dickson Street. Upon arrival firefighters did find and electrical socket in the wall had overheated and was arching. Firefighters disconnected electrical from the socket and used the thermal imaging camera to check wiring in the wall. No extensions found.

3-17-24 Made forcible entry for EMS at 900 th block of Berry Street.

3-19-24 Responded to a vehicle accident at 433 W. Boyce Street. Upon arrival firefighters found a two-car vehicle accident with no injuries. Firefighters assisted in traffic control until released by Manning PD.

3-20-24 Responded to a structure fire at 200 th block of Memorial Street. Upon arrival firefighters reported a brick residential structure with flames showing out the roof. Firefighters entered forcible entry into the front door with a 1-½ hand line. Another crew began a primary search for victims. None found. After extinguish, fire department was advised by Manning PD to ask SLED to respond to this fire. This fire is now investigated by SLED. No injuries.

3-20-24 Responded to a reported unconscious patient at 100 th block of S. Brooks Street. Upon arrival firefighters did find a patient lying on the floor breathing but incoherent. Occupant at the scene stated he had seizures before. Firefighters assisted patient with oxygen and patient care until EMS arrival.

3-20-24 Responded to a vehicle accident at Sunset and Alfred Henry. Upon arrival firefighters found a two-car vehicle accident with minor damage. One patient was complaining of wrist pain. EMS provided care for patient.

3-23-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 300 th block of Brunson Street.

3-23-24 Assisted MPD with forcible entry at 300 th block of Manchester Drive.

3-25-24 Responded to a reported unconscious patient at 200 th block of N. Boundary Street. Upon arrival firefighters found patient on the floor with an occupant already doing CPR. Firefighters took over CPR until EMS arrival. Upon EMS arrival firefighters were informed to stop CPR and coroner was notified by EMS.

3-25-24 Responded to a vehicle accident at W. Boyce and Weinburg Street. Upon arrival firefighters found a vehicle vs. 18-wheeler. Both occupants had NO injuries. Firefighters assisted with traffic control until MPD arrival.

3-26-24 Responded to a reported school bus accident at 2759 Raccoon Road. Upon arrival firefighters did find two unoccupied school buses had backed into each other at the Early Childhood center. No injuries and Manning PD released fire from the scene.

3-28-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 100 th block of W. Huggins Street.

3-29-24 Assisted EMS with loading a patient at 400 th block of S. Church Street.
